Leonard G. Kamlet

Partner

inner-seperator

As a 20-year AGF&J partner, Mr. Kamlet continues to apply his decades-long experience to the defense of a diverse array of cases on behalf of our firm’s clients, including premises liability, liquor liability, construction accidents involving statutory Labor Law claims, third party property damage claims, automobile accidents, and trucking transportation accidents. He has also handled condominium and cooperative accident claims, as well as discrimination and election disputes by resident owners. Mr. Kamlet has also handled toxic tort and product liability claims.

He started his career as a prosecutor in the office of the Bronx County District attorney where, for 7 years he directly handled and supervised investigations of white-collar crime and tried those cases. He also handled dozens of appeals of trials conducted by other bureaus, including before the Court of Appeals, New York’s highest appellate court. He took the skills developed as a prosecutor to civil practice, developing vast additional experience even before joining our firm. His extensive experience, preparation, and attention to detail makes him an invaluable resource to associates and partners alike for complex case analysis and strategy sessions.

Mr. Kamlet recognizes that in order to adapt to the ever-changing landscape and challenges of today’s civil litigation, simply being an aggressive and successful trial attorney is not enough to serve the best interests of our clients. He has, therefore, made alternative dispute resolution an integral part of how he analyzes, prepares, and resolves cases. Risk management and control of client expenses is at the forefront of his approach to meeting the singular interests of each client. He knows that clients have different concerns and outlooks, and he strives to have our clients feel they are his primary concern and focus at all times. He is devoted to detailed preparation and is always seeking the best possible outcome.

Mr. Kamlet is AV Preeminent Peer Review rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Being consistently recognized for the highest ethical standards and legal ability by his colleagues and the judiciary, is a source of great pride for him.
