Professional Liability Defense

A client sued his former attorneys for legal malpractice, alleging that they were negligent in representing him although the firm had obtained a significant monetary judgment for him.  As defense counsel for the former attorneys, AGF&J argued that the action was time-barred, based in part upon correspondence that flatly contradicted the plaintiff's argument that the defendants continued to represent him after a certain date.  The Court agreed and awarded summary judgment, plus costs and expenses, to AGF&J's clients, finding that ministerial tasks performed by their firm did not extend the accrual date for statute of limitations purposes.

Self-insured attorneys and law firms of all sizes trust AGF&J to defend them in legal malpractice litigation and at trial.  In addition, AGF&J represents insurance brokers and agents, home inspectors, accountants and other professionals in errors and omissions claims.  We quickly identify and analyze liability issues, promptly determine a claim’s merits and evaluate the potential exposure to efficiently and discreetly dispose of each claim in a cost-effective manner.
