Steven M. Berlin, Of Counsel

Steve is a senior level Employment, Labor and Commercial Litigation attorney with over 25 years of experience representing businesses of all sizes in industries as diverse as healthcare, transportation, technology, professional services, banking, education and hospitality.

Mr. Berlin defends employers and executives against a broad range of employment practices, discrimination, civil rights, regulatory and business claims such as wrongful discharge, unlawful harassment, breach of contract, whistleblower, retaliation, family leave, wage and hour, class and collective actions, enforcement of restrictive covenants, and disability and place of public accommodation claims.

He has extensive litigation experience in federal and state courts, and administrative and arbitral tribunals such as the EEOC and its local counterparts, the Department of Labor, the NLRB and the American Arbitration Association.

Steve provides comprehensive counseling, advice and training to management, in-house counsel and human resource professionals concerning workplace issues including litigation avoidance, discipline, hiring and firing and for emergency workplace situations. This includes conducting internal investigations of discrimination and harassment claims, unfair competition and other compliance issues and preparing contracts, restrictive covenants, policies, procedures and other human resource-related documents.

Mr. Berlin has been rated by AV Preeminent by Martin Hubbell and recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers since 2005, and New York Super Lawyers since 2011. He has been honored as one of the few attorneys in Super Lawyers history named to two separate lists within the same year.
